About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Industry Engagement and Partnerships to join our team at Queensland University of Technology. As a key member of our Industry Engagement, International and Business Development team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with industry partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration and commercialization, and driving the growth of our research capacity in science and engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, including identifying opportunities for collaboration and commercialization.
  • Lead a team of research commercialization professionals to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across the university.
  • Work closely with faculty members and researchers to identify and develop research opportunities that align with industry needs and priorities.
  • Develop and manage proposals for research funding and investment, including identifying and securing funding opportunities from government, industry, and other sources.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of research commercialization professionals, including mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
Requirements
  • Completion of a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Proven track record in establishing and maintaining long-term industry relationships and commercialization activities across a range of disciplines and activities.
  • Demonstrated management of a high-performing industry engagement team that has established partnerships leading to significant funding and knowledge transfer of university intellectual property.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively influence and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
