Job Description:

The People Branch provides key support functions to the agency, driving the development and delivery of its people capability. The branch is responsible for delivering all human resource and people strategies, striving to embed an agile and high-performing culture across the agency. It encompasses all human resource functions, including recruitment and entry programs, pay and conditions, workforce planning, workplace relations, performance, workplace health and safety, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and training and development.

The National Manager People will lead the People Branch, providing strategic direction and advice on all aspects of people management. They will drive the ACIC's workforce strategy, ensuring the agency has the necessary capabilities and capacity to achieve its strategic objectives.

This role plays a critical part in shaping the ACIC's workforce and embedding a culture of high performance, engagement, and continuous improvement within the agency.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a culture of high performance, engagement, and continuous improvement within the agency.
  • Lead the branch to continuously assess and improve the agency's strategic approach to delivering human resource functions.
  • Develop and implement the agency's workforce strategy, including workforce planning, talent management, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Oversight of policies, procedures, and programs related to recruitment, organisational psychology, onboarding, performance management, training and development, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and culture reform.
  • Oversight of all people management matters, including workforce planning, organisational design, and change management.
  • Foster a culture of learning and development, ensuring employees have access to relevant training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements related to employment and workplace health and safety.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant field and demonstrate significant experience working in a senior management or executive role within human resources (or similar). A qualification as a recognised human resources professional is highly desirable.

You must also be an Australian citizen and obtain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
