About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Planning Manager to lead our maintenance planning team responsible for the maintenance of plant and ancillaries, service contracts, and management of site major contractors.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure that systems, processes, and plans are in place to effectively manage key assets through the daily and weekly plan. You will also be responsible for the maintenance management system for all planned maintenance activities, ensuring cost control methods are in place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a Positive Safety Culture: Actively support site safety initiatives, standards, and procedures, ensuring full compliance in day-to-day operations and shutdown situations.
  • Ensure Maintenance Plans are Effectively Managed: Deliver environmental compliance and safety requirements through effective maintenance planning and execution.
  • Internal Auditing and Close-out Actions: Ensure own and delegates' internal auditing and close-out actions are delivered on time.
  • Develop a Competent Maintenance Planning Team: Develop a technically competent, motivated, functional, and cohesive Maintenance Planning team.
  • Team Succession Planning: Develop team succession plans, harness the talents of high performers, and promote opportunities for development.
  • Systems, Processes, and Plans: Ensure systems, processes, and plans are in place to effectively manage kiln and cement milling shortstops.
  • SAP Maintenance Management System: Ensure the SAP maintenance management system is maintained for all planned maintenance activities to reflect the schedule and resource requirements within the overall integrated maintenance plan.
  • Identify Opportunities for Optimisation: Identify opportunities for optimising plant and planning processes, continuous improvement, and maximising value of maintenance spend.
  • Actively Support Maintenance Budget: Actively support development and delivery of maintenance budget, ensuring cost control methods are in place for shutdown delivery.
  • Cost-effective Work Packaging: Utilise the planning process to deliver cost-effective work packaging and a sustainable long-term inventory reduction.
  • Plan Attainment and KPIs: Ensure plan attainment and other planning KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Work Delivery Balance: Ensure work delivery continually balances safety/cost/time/resources for successful outcomes.
  • ACR Compliance: Ensure ACR (Approved Contractor Register) Compliance (Audits up to date etc).
  • Vendor/Contractor Performance: Monitor and track vendor/contractor performance during the execution of planned works and provide feedback to the Contract Owner.
  • Financial, Progress, and Productivity Reports: Be responsible to maintain financial, progress, and productivity status reports of the weekly plan.
  • Planning Backlog: Be responsible to maintain a planning backlog to zero (no work in the past) and report on adherence to plan.
  • Statutory Requirements: Ensure all statutory requirements for maintenance of pressure vessels, fire protection systems, cranes, etc. are maintained.

  • Advanced Knowledge of Budget Setting, Tracking, and Forecasting
  • Proven Heavy Industrial Maintenance and Planning Experience
  • Experience in Managing a Functional Team
