Mechanical Fitter

About the Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
- Support breakdowns and shift work to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
- Assist in shutdowns and provide support to supervisors and coordinators as needed.
- Conduct tasks with a focus on long-term repairs and high-quality workmanship.
- Ensure that maintenance work complies with statutory and industry standards, using OEM manuals and collaborating with peers and engineers.
- Diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and service equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturers' instructions.
- Extract information from engineering drawings, specification diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Prepare work areas for maintenance of plants, systems, or components.
- Utilize site systems and the SAP system to document and archive maintenance records in accordance with site procedures.
- Work within the on-demand system to respond flexibly to changing priorities.
- Ensure contractors are inducted and supervised during service visits as necessary.
About You:
- Hold a relevant Mechanical trade qualification.
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Demonstrate a strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Exhibit good problem-solving skills.
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Have the ability to manage project execution.
- Be available and flexible to work overtime when reasonably required.
- Remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Work effectively under tight deadlines.
