About the Role

The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking a Clinical Facilitator to support the clinical education of undergraduate student nurses on professional practice placement within the Bachelor of Nursing program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming and orientating students to the clinical setting, acting as a professional role model, and providing opportunistic student learning and clinical teaching. They will also be responsible for identifying learning needs and promoting skill development, as well as providing feedback to students and the University.

The ideal candidate will have current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, a minimum of five years post-registration experience in a clinical setting, and postgraduate qualifications in an area of specialty. They will also have experience and involvement in the preceptorship/mentorship and supervision of nursing students/junior staff within a clinical setting.

About You
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience in facilitating and assessing undergraduate nursing students in the clinical setting
  • Postgraduate qualifications in clinical education
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Committed work ethic
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a high level of pastoral care to students
  • Knowledge of the registered nurse standards for practice
  • Understands and supports the Objects and the Catholic ethos of the University
