About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AOD Counsellor to join our dynamic team at Uniting Vic. As a key member of our clinical team, you will have the opportunity to further develop your clinical skills and expertise in working with individuals and groups affected by addiction.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in providing evidence-based individual and group therapeutic interventions, with a focus on promoting recovery and reducing relapse. You will work closely with our team to develop and deliver innovative programs and services that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical services to individuals and groups affected by addiction
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based individual and group therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement program and service initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to clinical practice
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical services
Requirements
  • Relevant health and welfare tertiary qualification (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences)
  • Experience in working with AOD or dual-diagnosis clients
  • Experience providing drug and alcohol assessment/counselling activities
  • Group work experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in case formulation, individual treatment planning, and discharge planning
  • Capacity to facilitate a range of therapeutic and psycho-educational groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of Motivational Enhancement and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies
