Work Health and Safety Coordinator

Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) is seeking a highly skilled Work Health and Safety (WHS) professional to join our team as a national coordinator. This is a 21-month contract based in our Zetland head office, with regular visits to our Chullora facility and interstate sites.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement WHS policies, procedures, and practices in line with legislative requirements and VW Group global guidelines.
- Support the development of the VGA security policy in line with global guidelines.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards, working closely with our VGA Brands and departments.
- Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, including identification of root causes, implementation of action plans, and follow-up.
- Monitor expenses to maximise cost effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant obligations and commitments related to product compliance and environmental compliance and management systems.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures and protocols for all facilities, assets, and staff, including contractors.
- Ensure the safety of employees, customers, visitors, and company property.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- Proven work experience in WHS, Facilities, or a similar field, with demonstrated safe workplace protocols.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with various audiences clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisation skills.
- Autonomy and a willingness to learn and expand your skillset and broaden your knowledge.
- Fire warden and first aid training, although this can be provided.
