About Your New Role

Are you a seasoned professional looking to make a significant impact in the field of Work Health and Safety? Do you have a passion for creating a safe and healthy work environment? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Work Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA).


Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement WHS Policies and Procedures: Create and maintain comprehensive WHS policies and procedures that align with legislative requirements and global guidelines.
  2. Support Security Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a robust security policy that meets global guidelines.
  3. Conduct Safety Audits and Risk Assessments: Identify and mitigate potential hazards through regular safety audits and risk assessments, working closely with VGA brands and departments.
  4. Lead Incident Investigations: Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, implement action plans, and follow up to ensure compliance.
  5. Monitor Expenses and Cost Effectiveness: Efficiently monitor expenses to maximize cost-effectiveness and ensure optimal resource allocation.
  6. Ensure Compliance with Obligations and Commitments: Ensure adherence to all relevant obligations and commitments related to product compliance, environmental compliance, and management systems.
  7. Implement and Maintain Security Measures: Develop and implement robust security measures and protocols for all facilities, assets, and staff, including surveillance systems, access control, and incident response plans.
  8. Ensure Employee and Visitor Safety: Uphold the safety of employees, customers, visitors, and company property.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  1. Tertiary Qualification in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or Occupational Health and Safety: A degree in a relevant field is essential for this role.
  2. Proven WHS Experience: Demonstrated experience in WHS, facilities, or a related field, with a strong understanding of safe workplace protocols.
  3. Strong Communication and Liaison Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with various audiences clearly and concisely.
  4. Attention to Detail and Time Management: Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization skills to ensure effective task completion.
  5. Autonomy and Willingness to Learn: Autonomous and willing to learn and expand your skillset and broaden your knowledge in a resilient manner.
  6. Fire Warden and First Aid Training: Preferred but can be provided.
