Senior Legal Counsel Opportunity

This is a rare chance to be part of a respected global business and play a key role in its high-performing, collaborative legal department.

About the Role

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the General Counsel to provide strategic and solutions-focused legal advice on a wide range of matters that impact business operations.

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements that drive business growth.
  • Providing expert legal guidance on employment law, privacy, competition, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks across business operations.
  • Supporting dispute resolution and litigation, including overseeing external counsel.
  • Staying up-to-date with legislative changes and communicating their impact to stakeholders.
  • Developing internal legal training programs to enhance risk awareness and compliance.

We are seeking a capable and commercially astute lawyer who enjoys being part of a business and contributing to its success.

You will ideally bring:

  • At least 5 years' PQE in corporate and commercial law.
  • A background in private practice or in-house (litigation or transactional).
  • A current Victorian practicing certificate.
  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A proactive, practical, and commercially driven mindset.

Lawyers with strong commercial judgment are particularly encouraged to apply, as their experience is highly valued within the team, especially for contract work and legal risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
