Senior Legal Advisor

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected global business and play a strategic role in its high-performing, collaborative in-house legal team.
You'll work closely with the General Counsel providing commercial and pragmatic legal advice on a wide range of matters that directly impact business operations.
While litigation experience is not essential, this makes it a particularly appealing role for litigators looking to transition into a well-rounded in-house position.

Whether your background is in private practice or in-house, you'll build on your existing strengths while developing deeper expertise across contracts, employment law, privacy, disputes, competition law, regulatory issues, and more.

Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Providing commercial and solutions-focused legal advice on issues including employment law, privacy, competition, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Identifying and managing legal risk across business operations.
- Supporting on disputes and litigation, including oversight of external counsel.
- Monitoring legislative changes and communicating key impacts to internal stakeholders.
- Delivering internal legal training to enhance risk awareness and compliance.
- Building relationships across the business and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
Requirements
- A capable and commercially-minded lawyer who enjoys being part of a business and contributing to its success.
- At least 5 years' PQE in corporate and commercial law.
- A background in private practice or in-house (litigation or transactional).
- A current Victorian practising certificate.
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive, practical and commercially driven mindset.
