About the role On account of continued growth, a brand new opportunity has arisen for a passionate and innovative lawyer to join the organisation's welcoming and collaborative in-house legal team in Melbourne's CBD.
This position will assist in navigating the complexities of education regulation, ensuring compliance and advocating for best practice as well as undertaking transactional work and negotiating commercial contracts.
The position reports to a Senior Legal Counsel and provides plenty of senior stakeholder engagement and interaction (both domestically and internationally), as well as the opportunity to contribute to critical projects that influence educational policies and enhance student outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a commercially focussed lawyer with a minimum of 3 years' PQE from a well-regarded commercial practice or in-house environment.
Prior education sector experience is not required.
Key responsibilities Provide advice and guidance on regulatory matters Draft contracts and negotiate on transactions Provide legal and strategic advice and support Develop relationships with key stakeholders in Australia and internationally Enhance and maintain template documents Liaise with external advisors Provide training where required This is your chance to make a real impact in the education sector.
