Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, ensuring timely service, and maintaining high food and safety standards. They will also train staff, contribute to menu planning, and support kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food efficiently, economically, and hygienically
  • Support kitchen operations and ensure timely service
  • Plan and prepare high-quality food for the restaurant, functions, and other outlets
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, following food safety standards (HACCP, FSMS)
  • Assist with inventory, off-site events, and kitchen-related tasks
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain high standards
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and ensure efficient use of ingredients
  • Train team members and supervise their performance

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a kitchen, ideally in a 5-star hotel or top-tier restaurant
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Valid trade qualification
  • Strong cooking skills and knowledge of food safety
  • Able to handle pressure, prioritise tasks, and solve problems calmly
  • Leadership and training skills, with a positive attitude and a team-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and a passion for food trends
  • Availability for shifts, including nights and weekends
