Role Overview

As a Social Media Advisor at CSIRO, you will play a key role in shaping the organization's digital presence and engaging with audiences through various social media channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Editorial and Content team to develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with CSIRO's corporate affairs goals.
  • Design and create engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Monitor and moderate social media conversations, identifying opportunities and risks, and escalating issues to managers as needed.
  • Analyze metrics and provide recommendations to improve audience engagement and key growth areas.
  • Provide training and advice on digital and social media use across the Corporate Affairs function and to broader groups.
  • Support the development of content strategy execution plans through digital and social channels.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Communication, PR, or Digital/Social.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate science stories in a social or new media environment.
  • Creative and strategic thinking, with a flexible and adaptive approach in the ever-changing media environment.
  • Experience in data analytics, audience measurement, and research.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt to relevant mediums and audiences.
  • The ability to build and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
