Job Overview

Sydney-based John Holland is seeking a high-calibre Construction Director to lead delivery activities on major rail projects. As a key member of the team, you will oversee project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.

This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as experience in complex rail systems projects from design to delivery. You will be responsible for developing delivery strategies, managing subcontracts, and ensuring legislative compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Construction Management and proven experience in similar roles with tier one contractors. They will also possess advanced project management, client, and stakeholder skills, as well as experience in design and construct, alliance, ITC, and PPP type contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery activities on major rail projects
  • Manage teams of construction & commissioning project managers, engineers, supervisors, workforce & subcontractors
  • Deliver assets to safety, cost, schedule, quality requirements
  • Exhibit outstanding leadership in health, safety, environmental and risk management, compliance and auditing
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a tier one contractor
  • Management of multidisciplinary rail systems projects and project teams
  • Major project experience
