Privacy Lawyer Role

Our organization seeks a seasoned Privacy Lawyer to provide high-level legal counsel on privacy and data protection matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert guidance on privacy laws and regulations to ensure robust support for clients.
  • Facilitate understanding and adherence to Australian privacy laws, with a focus on the Privacy Act.
  • Develop, negotiate, and assess commercial agreements that include information law clauses.
  • Create privacy policies, consent forms, and compliance documentation.
  • Offer strategic guidance on compliance reporting, data tracking requirements, and updates to internal codes of conduct.

Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in an in-house legal setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting and negotiating comprehensive data privacy and data processing agreements.
  • In-depth understanding of privacy law, specifically the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and related regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment.
  • Must possess full working rights in Australia and be fully qualified and eligible to practice law within the country.
