Job Title:
Privacy Lawyer
At Axiom, we're seeking an accomplished
Privacy Lawyer
to provide expert legal counsel on privacy and data protection issues. Our ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise with the Australian Privacy Act, a proven track record in negotiating data processing agreements (DPAs), and outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
Deliver expert legal counsel on privacy and data protection issues to ensure robust support.
Facilitate understanding and adherence to Australian privacy laws, with a focus on the Privacy Act.
Develop, negotiate, and assess commercial agreements that include information law clauses, as well as create privacy policies, consent forms, and compliance documentation.
Offer strategic guidance on compliance reporting, data tracking requirements, and updates to internal codes of conduct to enhance adherence to legal standards.
Qualifications
Over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), with a preference for those who have gained expertise in an in-house legal setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in drafting and negotiating comprehensive data privacy and data processing agreements to ensure full compliance with legal requirements and protection of sensitive information.
In-depth understanding of privacy law, specifically the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and related regulations, supported by proven experience in the field.
Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment while effectively communicating complex information.
Must possess full working rights in Australia and be fully qualified and eligible to practice law within the country.
