Job Description:

As a seasoned legal professional, you will provide expert guidance on privacy and data protection issues, ensuring robust support for our clients. You will facilitate understanding and adherence to Australian privacy laws, with a focus on the Privacy Act.

  • Deliver comprehensive legal counsel on privacy and data protection matters.
  • Develop, negotiate, and assess commercial agreements that include information law clauses.
  • Create privacy policies, consent forms, and compliance documentation.
  • Offer strategic guidance on compliance reporting, data tracking requirements, and updates to internal codes of conduct.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in an in-house legal setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting and negotiating comprehensive data privacy and data processing agreements.
  • In-depth understanding of privacy law, specifically the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and related regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment.
