Curriculum Specialist for Indigenous Education

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Curriculum Specialist to join our team at RMIT University. The successful candidate will be responsible for embedding Indigenous knowledges into our academic programs and courses.
This is an Identified position, and being of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage is considered a genuine occupational qualification.

About the Role/YouThe Senior Curriculum Specialist (Indigenous) will lead the conversation with Deans and executive-level leaders to create impactful, pedagogically-sound, and innovative solutions. You will be responsible for developing and executing dedicated training to ensure academic and professional staff develop sufficient capability to handle Indigenous content.
You will have a high level of capability in curriculum development, assessment, or technology-enhanced learning, using Indigenous knowledges perspectives. Additionally, you will possess an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
An excellent communicator, you will have a high ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples. Your experience in relationship management, consultation, and liaison skills will enable you to communicate effectively at all levels.
Key Requirements- Must be of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage
- High level of capability in curriculum development, assessment, or technology-enhanced learning, using Indigenous knowledges perspectives
- Understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in high-level reporting and analysis, with the ability to write and present concisely and effectively
- Proven organisational and project management skills
A degree with appropriate experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, is required. Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
The successful applicant must provide confirmation of their Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is approximately AU$124,474 per annum, plus superannuation. This role is based at the RMIT City campus, with the possibility of working at other sites or campuses.
