Job Title: Platform Team Leader

This role entails providing operational leadership to an Identity Team, managing team performance and overseeing the delivery of day-to-day technology projects, maintenance, and support.

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled professional to ensure the reliable operation, monitoring, and enhancement of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) environments across on-premise and hybrid cloud resources.

Your New Team:

You will lead our dedicated Identity Team within Technical Infrastructure, which plays a pivotal role in maintaining, monitoring, and enhancing our Identity and Access Management (IAM) environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of the Infrastructure Department strategy and execute tactical plans for operational success and daily services.
  • Lead and manage the Identity Team's performance, productivity, and quality in alignment with company objectives.
  • Coordinate the allocation and monitor the quality and closure of escalated incidents, requests, and projects.
  • Communicate incident and technology change information effectively to the Service Delivery Team.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point and internal technical reference for IAM matters.
  • Own the development and maintenance of the IAM knowledge base, operational procedures, and processes.
  • Embed agreed procedures for Infrastructure Change Management, Escalation, Incident, and Problem Management.
  • Ensure technical queries are escalated to Management according to established procedures.
  • Provide an effective interface between internal Technology Teams and service providers.
  • Maintain awareness, understanding, and compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Deliver team capability and capacity, proactively managing and developing talent.
  • Maximise service delivery through effective resource coordination and capacity planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5-10 years of relevant technical experience or a minimum of 3 years in a Team Leader role within a similar organisational environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to accurately articulate technical incidents and their business impact.
  • Well-developed troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, maintaining a strong customer focus and remaining calm under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a small technical team.
  • Proven experience in developing, documenting, implementing, and continually evolving operating policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Solid practical experience with centralised IAM solutions such as Okta, Ping ID, and Entra ID.
  • Proficiency with directory services, including Active Directory or similar.
  • Expertise in multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems, including knowledge of passwordless authentication services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IAM standards and protocols, including SAML, OAuth, WS-FED, OpenID Connect, Kerberos, and SCIM.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Competence in technical writing and the ability to translate technical details into business-friendly language.
  • Experience in training and mentoring IAM administrators on best practices and large-scale IAM projects.
Highly Preferred:
  • Experience as a key technical resource on an IAM platform integrated with multiple systems of record.
  • Previous leadership experience within an IAM team in the Financial Services sector.
  • Experience with IAM solutions during mergers, acquisitions, or demergers.
  • Industry-recognised IAM technical certifications (e.g., Okta Certified Professional, Okta Certified Administrator).
