About the Role">

TAFE Queensland seeks a highly skilled Technical Architect to lead the architectural design and strategic alignment of infrastructure platforms. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based primarily at Mount Gravatt.

This role reports to the Manager, Server and Cloud and will be responsible for leading platform domain design reviews, providing mentorship to infrastructure engineering teams, and contributing to ICT strategic planning.

">Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight across compute, storage, virtualisation, and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, standards, and reusable design patterns.
  • Collaborate with other architects across ICT to ensure alignment between business requirements, technical implementation, and other technical domains.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Requirements:
  • Advanced technical expertise in hybrid infrastructure platforms, including cloud services (Azure/AWS), virtualisation, and on-premises systems.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, scripting, and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to produce and maintain technical standards, architecture documentation, and platform roadmaps.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide teams through technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to mentor and influence technical teams.
