Freight Handler Job Description

The Freight Handler is responsible for managing and sorting freight with the highest safety standards. Their goal is to ensure all shipments move seamlessly and in a timely manner.

  • The successful candidate will safely manage and internally move all consignments within our depot, using their knowledge of logistics and transportation systems.
  • They will label and sort consignments to the correct delivery area with high accuracy, utilizing their attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • As part of a team, they will work harmoniously and effectively to ensure efficient turnaround time, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues.
  • Additionally, they will be responsible for completing administrative and operational tasks for front-line operations, including data entry, ramp activities, and dispatch activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Education Requirements

Candidates should have a secondary education or equivalent, demonstrating their ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Experience Requirements
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience are required for this role, with a focus on freight handling and logistics.
  • For Associate level positions, no prior experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn and grow is essential.
  • For Senior level positions, at least four (4) years of relevant work experience are required, with a proven track record of success in freight handling and logistics.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC systems is necessary, along with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven expertise in planning and organizing is required, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
