Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Communications & Events Officer to join our Communication and Events team on a Permanent, full-time basis.

The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications and/or equivalent work experience in marketing.

Key responsibilities include coordinating Council's social media accounts, websites, printed materials, and other communication streams; assisting with organizing and coordinating Council events; researching and drafting speeches, MC notes, briefings, corporate presentations, and other materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A proven track record of using a wide range of communications tools including social media.
  • Experience in digital marketing and knowledge of basic principles and practices of advertising, marketing, and events.
  • Disciplined approach and attention to detail.
  • High-level organizational skills, including problem-solving, managing multiple concurrent tasks, and prioritizing.
  • High-level communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience writing copy and updating websites.
  • Ability to research and prepare speech notes for a range of speakers and topics.
  • Prior experience in organizing and coordinating functions and events.

This role offers a competitive salary of $85,000 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.
