Position Overview

Psychiatrist Consultant - Youth Services

This role involves the assessment and treatment of young people aged 12 to 24, including those engaged with intensive outreach services such as community-based care programs. Care is provided in a variety of settings outside of the traditional inpatient model, ensuring services are responsive, accessible, and youth-focused.

The successful applicant will deliver high-quality mental health care to young people with acute needs across a range of community settings, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. The role also involves consultation and collaboration with other mental health professionals to support integrated and coordinated care across sectors.

The position requires participation in an on-call roster (including after-hours and weekend work) and may involve intrastate travel.
