Child Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) Psychologist Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) team in Tasmania, Australia.
As a CYMHS Psychologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of quality psychological services to children, young people, and their families. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing evidence-based Neurodevelopmental assessments and therapeutic interventions that meet the needs of our clients.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, undertaking various tasks including:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify individual strengths and challenges
- Developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs
- Working closely with other professionals, including teachers, social workers, and healthcare providers, to ensure seamless care coordination
- Contributing to research projects and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and outcomes
Key Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or related field
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA)
- Area of Practice Endorsement (if required for the specific role)
- Current Working with Children Registration
Desirable Qualifications/Attributes:
- Post-graduate qualifications in areas such as child psychology, neuropsychology, or health psychology
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults with complex mental health needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders
