Claims Decisions Specialist

The Claims Decisions Specialist will play a crucial role in determining the eligibility of claims and transitioning them to Case Managers for further management.
This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with technical knowledge of relevant legislation.
Key responsibilities include making decisions on claim acceptance or rejection, calculating PIAWE, and advising Dispute Resolution Managers on decision rationale.
Requirements- Problem-solving and decision-making
- Work management, including attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective communication, both written and verbal
- Resilience and perseverance in achieving business objectives
- Strong customer service focus
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Continuous improvement and initiative
- Minimum 2 years' experience in initial claims assessment (Case Manager) or 1 year's experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role
- Strong working knowledge of associated Regulations and/or a Legal Qualification
- Proficiency in WorkCover scheme and related policies
- Teamwork and flexibility
- Able to follow rules and regulations
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of ACCtion and Novus case management systems
