Research Ethics Officer

This role is a key part of our team, supporting the quality of our research activities in Australia and the Pacific.

We are seeking an individual who can provide high-level administrative and secretariat support to our Ethics Committee. This includes ensuring committee meetings are well-prepared and conducted with a focus on achieving required outcomes.

The successful candidate will work with stakeholders to ensure research projects are planned and implemented according to required standards. This involves balancing risks and benefits to research participants, collating data from various sources, and effectively tracking and managing documents.

To achieve this, you will need:

  • A graduate qualification in public health, research or an equivalent field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement to achieve required outcomes and maintain high standards and research integrity.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise workload during busy periods, manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks, meet deadlines and cater to the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a task-oriented and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly competent using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Experience as a member of a Human Research Ethics Committee would be highly valued in this role.
