- Plan, coordinate, lead and manage human, financial, material and capital resources to provide a cost effective, quality service that meets key performance indicators and financial accountabilities of the Research Office. This position will provide high level ethics advice and support to researchers as well as executive function to the Human Research Ethics Committee and Research Committee in support of the Director of Research. Liaising with all members of SESLHD Research Community whose membership is diverse and represents a spectrum of medical, surgical, allied and mental health disciplines from academic to clinical and government to private and commercial sectors.
- The position will require the ability to communicate and inform widely with the clinical research groups located across SESLHD, research partners, networks and community groups external to the organisation. The Ethics and Development Manager will execute goal directed outcomes as directed by the Director of Research. They will facilitate seamless and cohesive collaboration and integration between the facilities, directorates, researchers, Ministry and the Director of Research.

**_ Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing._**

**_ All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW._**

**_ Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations._**

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant equivalent experience in health and medical research and/or clinical research, including strong awareness of Australian, NSW health and medical research policy and processes in the context of academic, research and business environments.
- Extensive knowledge of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and other relevant Commonwealth, State legislation, regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills and experience managing and developing people to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture and lead change implementing and evaluating customer focused service improvements.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to effectively manage a high workload and prioritise competing demands to meet deadlines by displaying initiative, judgement, and problem-solving skills across a large and complex organisation.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to provide professional advice and guidance in research ethics or funding opportunities as they arise.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a multi-disciplinary environment to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.
