In 2015, Ramsay Health Care established the Ramsay Hospital Research Foundation (RHRF), and registered it as a not for profit organisation. Operations of RHRF commenced in 2017, upon receipt of a core grant from the Paul Ramsay Foundation. This grant has led to the establishment of key research projects and a robust set of research programs over the past seven years with a focus on mental health, cancer, cardiology, musculoskeletal and rehabilitation research.

The core value proposition of RHRF is to fund research that will lead to actionable improvement of patient outcomes, preferencing Australian-based Ramsay hospitals/pharmacies. As RHRF evolves the Foundation continues to develop key priorities in research. RHRF continues to develop initiatives with a current focus on social determinants of health and how these can be addressed through innovation and partnership.
