About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Gas Portfolio Strategist to optimise the entire supply chain by influencing maintenance schedules, operational setup, and trading gas to improve our portfolio and effectively utilise our infrastructure.

This role requires you to manage our entire gas portfolio through daily scheduling of gas production and third-party gas contracts to meet contractual commitments. You will be accountable for making business-critical decisions and contributing to strategic decision-making over time.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Nominating, scheduling, and optimising our infrastructure, gas assets, and external third-party contracts for gas sale, purchase, and transport to meet contractual commitments
  • Identifying, planning, and executing supply chain optimisation and mitigation plans
  • Executing strategic short-term trading opportunities in the domestic gas market, leveraging flexibility in our portfolio to generate value
  • E nsuring key compliance activities are completed to ensure commercial operations comply with regulatory requirements
  • Liaising daily with LNG Marketing and our Upstream and Downstream Control Rooms to optimise the supply chain, resolve real-time operational issues, and plan transient operational set-ups
  • Influencing integration of maintenance activities to mitigate operational risks and minimise losses
  • Monitoring and analysing the Australian east coast domestic gas market daily to understand potential opportunities and impacts on our supply chain
  • Fostering and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties

This role requires a motivated individual with experience in a similar role, knowledge of the gas market, and a solid understanding of the oil and gas value chain. You must enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment with a proven capability to work well under pressure, accepting a high level of personal responsibility.

You are an analytical and detail-oriented person who likes problem-solving, optimisation, and risk management. This role also requires someone who enjoys negotiating and building trusting relationships with various stakeholders and counterparties.
