Energy Operations Specialist

The Energy Operations Specialist is a critical role within our integrated portfolio of gas, electricity, and financial products. In this position, you will be responsible for managing daily operations, working closely with the Shell Energy Spot Trading team to build an in-depth understanding of gas trading and power generation assets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Optimizing long-term gas contract scheduling and negotiations
  • Managing power station dispatch into the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM)
  • Analyzing market data to inform strategic decisions
  • Interpreting contracts for operational obligations
  • Collating data for regulatory submissions and internal compliance
  • Developing analytics and data management solutions to improve daily processes
  • Engaging with customers, partners, service providers, and pipeline operators to ensure timely and accurate scheduling activities
  • Presenting market events and portfolio planning to the broader Supply and Trading team
