
Violence Prevention Specialist

Job Description
As a Violence Prevention Specialist, you will deliver quality, safe, and effective responses to children, young people, and families experiencing family violence. Our team works collaboratively with community service organisations, Aboriginal services, and government agencies to deliver an integrated practice model and consolidated intake point for those affected by family violence.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Actively manage a caseload of complex family violence cases
- Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals
- Work collaboratively to support integrated risk assessment and planning
- Apply for brokerage on behalf of clients when required
- Refer clients to services within the broader service system and provide them information and support
In order to be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification as per the mandatory minimum requirements for specialist family violence practitioners
- Experience, skills, and capabilities in child, youth, and families welfare
- Well-developed risk assessment and management skills
- Understanding of the broader service system referral pathways
- Solid knowledge of the MARAM Framework, Best Interests Principles and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
- A valid and current Driver's License
