Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Community Services Officer to join our team. As the key liaison between universities and Youth Justice Service Centres, you will play a critical role in identifying and assessing suitable students for placement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the regional Student Placement Unit to facilitate effective partnerships between the department and key stakeholders.
  • Providing leadership in the implementation of strategies that promote the formation of sustainable partnerships.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders, including universities and recruitment expos.
  • Representing youth justice at regional consultation forums, committees or working groups as required.
  • Facilitating the engagement of diverse communities and organisations in the partnership.
  • Developing and leading a strong, integrated multi-agency service system in collaboration with non-government funded and unfunded providers.
  • Conducting planning activities to identify potential challenges and enhance service delivery.
  • Promoting learning and information sharing through site mentoring, training and information sessions.
  • Traveling within the region for site visits and to other regional offices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Capacity to travel within the region.
