Donor Relationship Officer

Job Description:

This role involves developing and executing a donor engagement strategy, including donor contact plans, marketing and communications touchpoints, and relationship-based moves management activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing and tracking the financial efforts of a donor portfolio, as well as experience with donor cultivation, donor portfolio, and moves management.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and disciplined, with strong administrative skills and high-level attention to detail.

They will also possess natural ability to influence and clearly articulate information, with high EQ and CQ, discretion, self-awareness, and the ability to relate to a diverse range of donors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of approximately 600-700 mid-level donors
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence Team to effectively tier donor portfolio based on activity and capacity
  • Develop, execute, and grow a donor engagement strategy
  • Attract, convert, and retain new mid-level donors
  • Develop and execute lapsed donor strategies to financially re-engage mid-level donors

Networking & Partnership:

  • Build professional and trust-based relationships with mid-level donors through various communication strategies

Communication:

  • Develop and execute innovative mid-level donor communication and engagement strategies
  • Share donor insights and feedback with Marketing & Communications team

Documentation, Reporting & Data Management:

  • Report activity and progress against plans to the Philanthropy Manager
  • Responsible for data hygiene, including logging donor interactions, portfolio management, donor communications, forecasting, and results analysis
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of proven experience delivering results in a fundraising or sales environment
  • Proven track record of effectiveness as a collaborator on cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing, tracking, and reporting on the financial efforts of a donor portfolio
  • Experience with donor cultivation, donor portfolio, and moves management
