About The Role

The Relationship Manager is responsible for fostering strategic partnerships that drive philanthropic growth and enhance the Australian Museum's impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive donor engagement strategy to secure gifts of $10,000+.
  • Nurture relationships with existing donors and cultivate new prospects to build a robust pipeline of bequest intenders.
  • Collaborate with senior relationship managers to steward major and principal gifts, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional donor experience.

About You:

  • We seek an experienced Relationship Manager with at least 3 years' background in fundraising, non-profit, or customer service roles.
  • Candidates should possess great organisational skills, enthusiasm, results-focussed attitude, and self-motivation.
  • Essential requirements include:
    • Establishing, nurturing, and stewarding relationships within a portfolio of existing and prospective donors and foundations.
    • Excellent writing skills, including grant applications and donor communications.
    • Exemplary interpersonal skills, effective listening, empathy, and discretion.
    • A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and establish priorities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in arts, science, business, communications, marketing, museum studies, or event management, or equivalent work experience.
