Job Summary

The Motor Underwriting Manager will lead the Market Facing Underwriting team for VIC and TAS Motor, driving profitable growth in the Motor portfolio through the implementation of our Zurich Motor underwriting strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Market Facing Underwriting team with high-level engagement with customers & brokers
  • Responsible for market performance and P&L of VIC and TAS Motor portfolios
  • Ensuring VIC and TAS segment-specific business needs, opportunities, and gaps are understood and addressed through collaboration with Underwriting and other functions
  • Positioning self within the organization as a positive change leader, working with stakeholders to achieve operational transformation and alignment
  • Advocating for change transformation, including adopting our sustainability strategy

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in Motor Underwriting & commercially astute with a comprehensive understanding of the general insurance industry
  • Proven technical underwriting capability and technical leadership
  • ANZIIF CIP member or equivalent & Bachelor's degree or post-graduate qualifications
  • Proven strong market-facing presence particularly with local International Broking market
