We have an exciting Senior Motor Underwriter role as part of the VIC/ TAS team on a 15-month contract. You will be responsible for working as part of a high performing team and ensuring profitable growth and strategic development of Zurich's Motor portfolio across the region.

This role ensures underwriting excellence, risk assessment, and portfolio management while fostering strong broker and client relationships. The position requires a balance of technical underwriting expertise and market-facing engagement to drive results in line with Zurich's commercial objectives.

• Underwrite and manage a complex portfolio of Motor risks (including commercial fleet, motor trade, and specialist vehicles) in accordance with Zurich's underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, pricing analysis, and policy wording reviews to ensure profitability and compliance.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including loss ratios and claims trends, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Drive portfolio growth through effective risk selection, pricing strategies, and product innovation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Represent Zurich in market engagements, including broker meetings, industry events, and client negotiations.

In order to be successful, you will require the following:

• Relevant Motor underwriting experience preferably with a strong background in commercial/fleet underwriting.
• Tier 1 Insurance qualification (or progress toward) preferred. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ANZIIF) desirable
• Deep knowledge of Motor insurance products, pricing models, and risk assessment
• Proven ability to engage with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders at a senior level.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret data, trends, and portfolio performance metrics.
