Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Specialist to contribute to the development of test plans and execute thorough testing across multiple standalone & integrated platforms.

This role involves supporting SME Leads and internal and external stakeholders to ensure that business technology systems or processes meet business requirements and user expectations.

  • Operational Readiness: Ensure operational readiness for changes by working with training and change management resources to communicate impacts to end users in advance of implementation.
  • User Requirements: Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to understand user requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • UAT/BAT Strategy: Support the design and documentation of UAT/BAT strategy and testing plan based on business and functional requirements.
  • Test Cases: Support the design and documentation of test cases based on realistic scenarios to validate the system meets expectations, is fit for purpose, aligned across systems, user friendly and performing as expected.
  • Testing Coordination: Coordinate test resources internally and externally as required.
  • Test Execution: Create test data and execute test cases at various points for any changes to systems, software or processes impacting end users.
  • Defect Reporting: Document the test execution and communicate with developers and PO's regarding any deviations.
  • Testing Progress: Report any defects when they arise and work with relevant SME's and PO's to triage and assess for next steps.
  • Readiness Assessment: Track and report on testing progress including defects in conjunction with the technology testing team.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Ensuring operational readiness for changes and communicating impacts to end users.
  2. Collaborating with business stakeholders and product owners to understand user requirements and acceptance criteria.
  3. Supporting the design and documentation of UAT/BAT strategy and testing plan based on business and functional requirements.
  4. Designing and documenting test cases based on realistic scenarios.
  5. Coordinating test resources internally and externally.
  6. Executing test cases and documenting test execution.
  7. Reporting defects and working with SME's and PO's to triage and assess for next steps.
  8. Tracking and reporting on testing progress including defects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' experience within the NSW Workers Compensation environment, ideally including executing business processes as an end user in Policy & Billing and/or Claims Management.
  • Experience executing business processes on the icare claims and/or policy management platforms.
  • Highly developed technical skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Highly developed communication skills and collaborative approach to stakeholder management.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
  • Experience and knowledge of software development lifecycle and working with developers or ability to upskill quickly.
