Preschool Autism Intervention Professional

The Provincial Preschool Autism Services (PPAS) offers a unique opportunity for a Clinical Interventionist to provide personalized support to preschool age children with autism and their families.
This is an exciting role where you will facilitate goal setting processes with families related to their child's identified needs, provide assessments, and develop intervention programs tailored to the child's requirements.
As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will work collaboratively with families to achieve positive outcomes for the children in your care.
The PPAS partnership brings together IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, and Autism Nova Scotia to provide comprehensive services to preschoolers across Nova Scotia with suspected or diagnosed autism.
Key Responsibilities- Provide intensive interventions to preschool age children (ages 0-6) with autism and their families.
- Facilitate family-centered goal setting processes to identify and address the child's needs.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized intervention programs.
- Contribute to and participate in ongoing family education and support.
- Work within various intervention frameworks to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Board-certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body in Nova Scotia.
- CPR certification within the last 12 months and First Aid certification.
- Two years recent experience working with children with autism (ages 0-6) and their families.
