About The Role

The 99 Steps program offers culturally sensitive support to women from diverse backgrounds in Logan and Beenleigh who have experienced domestic and family violence.

This program provides individualised advocacy, case management, safety planning, risk assessments, information and referrals, crisis support and counselling to address the unique needs of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a comprehensive domestic and family violence response using a trauma-informed approach;
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments, safety planning, crisis support, advocacy, information and referrals;
  • Deliver client-centred approaches with a strong understanding of complexities related to domestic, family or sexual violence;
  • Maintain accurate data records and adhere to practice principles and standards for Domestic and Family Violence services;
  • Practice from a solutions-focused perspective when faced with complex situations;
  • Prepare and collate program reports as directed by Service Delivery Manager;
Essential Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or human services field;
  • Minimum two years' experience working with women and their families impacted by domestic and family violence;
  • Demonstrated experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in negotiation, interpretation, advocacy and conflict resolution;
  • Understanding and willingness to work from a feminist framework which values cultural diversity and recognises disadvantage.
