Job Description\

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for applying independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens. You will verify and validate test results, and provide advice to the clinical unit where appropriate.\

\

You will undertake diagnostic testing and related duties following established protocols and standards within a multidisciplinary team. You will participate in continuous shift work on a 24-hour rostering arrangement, including weekends and Public Holidays.\

\

You will also initiate and/or contribute to the development of scientific practices, procedures, protocols, and research activities within a multi-specialist work area that support the continuum of care.\

\

Additionally, you will apply high level knowledge, skills, and experience to multi-specialist duties within the work unit with minimal clinical practice supervision out of hours.\

\Required Skills and Qualifications\

We are seeking an individual who possesses:

  • \
  • a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognised university or tertiary institution\\
  • demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of diagnostic testing and clinical interpretation of results within a multi-disciplinary laboratory\\
  • demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline\\
  • demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a multidiscipline service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner\\
