About the Role

As a Scientist in our team, you will be responsible for applying independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate.

You will also undertake diagnostic testing and related duties following established accredited protocols and standards within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.

  • Apply high-level knowledge, skills, and experience to multi-specialist duties within the work unit with minimal clinical practice supervision out of hours.
  • Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification that enhance the delivery of pathology services within the local service area.

In this role, you will participate in continuous shift work on a 24-hour rostering arrangement, including weekends and Public Holidays. You will apply high-level knowledge, skills, and experience to multi-specialist duties within the work unit with minimal clinical practice supervision out of hours.

You will also have the opportunity to initiate and/or contribute to the development of scientific practices, procedures, protocols, and research activities within a multi-specialist work area that support the continuum of care engaging cross-discipline referencing where relevant.
