Work as a Vocational Specialist to empower young people with mental health difficulties. Provide Individual Placement and Support (IPS) vocational services, career development advice, and employment assistance.
About the RoleThis is an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team in the Townsville region, supporting young people in gaining sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based IPS vocational services to young people with mental health difficulties.
- Collaborate with the headspace clinical team to ensure effective support for young people.
- Provide career guidance, vocational and employment assistance to young people up to age 25.
- Support young people in finding employment that suits their strengths, needs, and interests.
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team providing access to mental health and wellbeing treatments, including individual and group therapy, and a dedicated suicide prevention program.
RequirementsWe are seeking a candidate with tertiary level education in a relevant human services discipline. The ideal applicant will have:
- Tertiary level education in social work, psychology or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of vocational planning and employment lead creation.
- Understanding of mental health disorders.
- Strong computer, technology, and administration skills.
- Eligibility for a Blue Card and NDIS worker screening clearance.
- A current driver's license.
