This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Mental Health Support Worker in Wollongong, providing high-quality support and care to individuals with mental health diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities- Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients with mental health conditions, promoting a sense of belonging and connection.
- Daily Tasks: Assist with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, ensuring clients maintain their independence and well-being.
- Care Planning: Implement tailored care plans to promote independence and well-being, working closely with clients to understand their needs and goals.
- Safety and Support: Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all clients, fostering a culture of respect and empathy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Mental Health Experience: Experience working with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, paranoia, and complex behaviors, demonstrating a strong understanding of mental health principles.
- Validations: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, NDIS Clearance, and First Aid certification, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Background: Strong background in mental health and social services, with a passion for delivering exceptional care and support.
