About Our Opportunity

Our organization is seeking a Trauma Informed Education Specialist to deliver evidence-informed mental health interventions with children.

This role involves leading the delivery of trauma-informed education and support to teachers, parents, and caregivers within schools and classrooms.

In consultation with school executives, you will provide professional development training, coaching engagements, and consultation to support social emotional support of students.

You will also plan and facilitate wellbeing-focused capacity building opportunities for parents and carers, and participate in classroom observations and teacher coaching.

Requirements For This Role Are

  • Graduate/Postgraduate/Masters qualifications in social work, psychology, education or a creative arts therapy
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working in social work, psychology, education or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed principles and practices for supporting children, families, and communities
  • Prior experience working with children impacted by trauma, an understanding of childhood development, and key therapeutic frameworks for effective intervention and recovery
  • Prior experience delivering workshops and presentations
  • Professional experience working in mental health
  • Current or eligible registration with a national professional body
  • Working with Children Check number as evidence of clearance
  • National Police History Check
