Conference and Events Coordinator Role

At our hospitality company, we're seeking a skilled Conference and Events Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our events team, you'll be responsible for driving business growth through face-to-face sales calls, telesales, and on-site guest relations activities.

This is a part-time role with a minimum of 16 hours per week guaranteed for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all duties related to functions, special events, and food and beverage services, including owner and guest service, displaying excellent telephone manner techniques, becoming knowledgeable of the local area, and completing resort paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Create engaging and fun activities and culinary promotional programs, offering a range of attractive activities and functions for guests.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for conferences and events, working collaboratively with the annual budget.
  • Identify and develop potential leads, meeting targets set in association with the General Manager.
  • Prepare and represent the hotel at required exhibitions and trade shows.
  • Support the Front Office with all aspects of administration.
  • Perform cash and electronic banking duties.
  • Check in and register guests as required.
  • Maintain relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and generate repeat business.
  • Promote the venue to clients, working with the Front Office to meet occupancy projections.
  • Recruit, select, and induct suitable food and beverage/function staff in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and facilitate any staff training and development requirements.

Requirements:

  • Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic and busy environment.

  • Have a 'can-do' attitude, eye for detail, and display enthusiasm at all times.
  • Previous experience within a hotel maintenance environment would be preferable.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and have an exceptional eye for detail are key requirements of this role.
