We specialize in providing comprehensive environmental and social assessment and management services, covering all project phases from initial concept through to feasibility, technical evaluation, consultation, approvals, execution, operation, and decommissioning.

Our Canberra team is currently seeking to fill the roles of either a Principal Ecologist or a Senior Ecologist.

Role Responsibilities

Principal Ecologist

In this leadership role, you will drive our ecological initiatives, offering both strategic direction and technical expertise throughout project lifecycles. Your focus will be on fostering innovation and excellence, mentoring junior staff, and nurturing a culture of continuous professional development. You will also engage with clients, identify new business opportunities, and play a crucial role in shaping the growth strategy for our ecology workstream.

Senior Ecologist

As a Senior Ecologist, you will be integral to our team, leading ecological surveys, conducting impact assessments, and providing expert guidance to clients. Your extensive background in ecological research and project management will be essential in achieving successful outcomes while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders will be vital as you contribute to sustainable solutions and mitigation strategies. Experience in avian and bat utilization surveys, as well as impact assessments related to blade strike and barotrauma, is preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Principal Ecologist and 5 years as a Senior Ecologist.
  • Degree in ecology, environmental science, zoology, botany, or a related field.
  • BAM accreditation or significant experience in BAM and/or other biometric data capture and analysis (or the ability to achieve BAM accreditation).
  • Proven experience in leading ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact analyses.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in preparing and reviewing reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences, including clients and government agencies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including project management and team coordination.
  • Current Australian driver's license.
