Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Ecologist Leader or Senior Ecologist to join our team in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading ecological initiatives, providing technical expertise, and contributing to the growth and success of our consultancy firm.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead ecological surveys and impact assessments
- Provide expert advice to clients on environmental matters
- Contribute to the development of sustainable solutions and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Travel within the ACT, NSW, and nationally as required
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Principal Ecologist and 5+ years as a Senior Ecologist
- Degree qualified in ecology, environmental science, zoology, botany, or a related discipline
- BAM accredited assessor or with extensive experience in BAM and/or other biometric data capture and analysis
- Proven track record of leading ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact analyses
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, including project management and team coordination
- Current Australian drivers license
- A role working alongside highly experienced professionals
