Ecologist Leader

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Ecologist Leader or Senior Ecologist to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our ecology team, you will be responsible for leading ecological initiatives, providing technical expertise, and guiding projects from inception to completion.

• Lead ecological surveys, conduct impact assessments, and provide expert advice to clients.
• Develop and implement the growth strategy for the ecology workstream in ACT, as well as travel within the ACT, NSW, and nationally as appropriate.
• Cultivate client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the growth and success of our consultancy firm.
• Play a pivotal role in our team, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions and mitigation strategies.

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Principal Ecologist and 5+ years as a Senior Ecologist.
• Degree qualified in ecology, environmental science, zoology, botany, or a related discipline.
• BAM accredited assessor or with extensive experience in BAM and/or other biometric data capture and analysis (or capacity to achieve BAM accreditation).
• Proven track record of leading ecological assessments, habitat surveys, and impact analyses.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience in preparing and reviewing reports.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities, including project management and team coordination.
• Current Australian drivers license.
