We are expanding our biodiversity services in response to the ACT's shift towards renewable energy and the need to balance development with strategic conservation and offsetting outcomes. This presents an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic ecologists to contribute to our team and enhance their career in ecological consulting.
The successful candidate will work in a field-based role, conducting ecological surveys in various locations throughout the ACT and potentially in New South Wales. This position offers a chance to develop technical skills in recognizing vegetation and flora, surveying for specific species, and working in a professional team.
About YouWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Ecological Consultant who meets the following criteria:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology, or a related field
- A strong desire to work flexible hours and travel for ecological fieldwork, including possible trips of extended duration in rural or remote regions
- Experience in undertaking ecological surveys and a demonstrated passion for flora and/or fauna
- Ability to work in a professional team as well as autonomously, with effective communication skills
- Experience in GIS and electronic data capture (preferred)
- Appreciation of the importance of workplace health and safety matters
