Export Team Leader Role
The Export Team Leader is a key role within our organization, responsible for leading a team of export operations staff and managing the daily activities that keep our export processes running smoothly. This includes overseeing ocean and air freight operations, coordinating shipments, tracking and acquitting shipments, and providing quotes for new and existing business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage bookings, coordinate shipments, and follow up on documentation to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Coordinate shipments with transport providers, shipping lines, airlines, and destination representatives to keep everything on track.
- Track and acquit shipments, handling both domestic and international movements, and ensuring all shipments are accurately tracked and processed.
- Provide quotes for new and existing business opportunities and ensure they are updated in CargoWise.
- Review and respond to internal and external service reports, and assist in client implementation plans, including SOPs and stakeholder briefings.
- Identify potential issues and provide proactive solutions, handle 'Moments of Truth' and resolve issues to clients' satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve service delivery.
- Lead and mentor staff on operational activities, ensuring adherence to safety, policies, and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of global forwarding operations, import/export market trends, and strong experience with CargoWise.
- Proven ability to handle customer interactions with a strong service ethic.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a results-oriented approach.
- Effective team leadership with a focus on performance and process improvement.
